What makes More Than English different?

At More Than English, students do not arrive in groups. They join as individuals and become part of a truly international community. This creates deeper friendships, faster progress in English and a more meaningful personal journey.

Our programmes attract a large number of British teenagers, which helps create a full immersion experience.

Our approach combines small-group learning with a supportive 1:4 staff-to-student ratio. Our programme helps students develop their self-confidence, independence and global mindset – not just English.

Who the programme is for?

Our summer school is designed for international students aged 12–17 who are motivated to learn, curious about the world and ready to challenge themselves in a supportive, English-speaking environment.

68% of our international students are B2 or above. In terms of age, 11% are 11–12 years old, 23.9% are 13–14 years old and 69% are 15–17.

Students choose a morning Subject or Sports Academy and an afternoon Pro Specialism each week, creating a personalised timetable that reflects their interests, strengths and ambitions.

Learning beyond the classroom

Being individuals (no groups), our 20+ nationalities integrate fully. Teenagers from around the world live, study and socialise together, developing communication skills, resilience and confidence through shared experiences.

The programme includes a full social programme of Activities, Evening Events and three Excursions per week, plus personalised mentoring and support from our dedicated team of House Parents.

More Than English is based in Ludlow, a beautiful and historic market town in the English countryside. The location offers a safe, welcoming environment where students can focus on learning while experiencing authentic British culture.
