Specialisms are in the afternoons for 10 hours a week. Every child is different with different ‘goals’ and ambitions and that is why students can choose from a wide range of Specialisms in 3 categories:

Professional Sports Coaching

Perfect for students who want professional sports coaching in a new sport or a sport they love already.

> Pro-Sports options give you more time outside enjoying the sunshine and natural environment of our idyllic 20-hectare campus

Choose from a range of Pro-Sports options: golf, tennis, basketball and football. Professional coaches will help you improve your skills, your teamwork and your match play. You can try a new sport or choose a sport that you love. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced player, the coaches will make you work hard to improve your skills. All of the sports are on campus. Facilities on campus include: a 9-hole (Par 3 golf course), tennis courts, and in addition 3 astro-turf and grass football pitches plus a heated indoor 20 metre swimming pool.

Tennis

Pro-Tennis

Whether you are a beginner or an advanced player, work with specialist coaches to improve your game. Every day you will focus on two aspects of your game such as dominating from the middle or cross court battles. During the final lesson every day you will develop your competitive spirit and resilience by playing matches.

Pro-Golf
Pro-Golf on campus

Pro-Golf

The secret to golf is concentration and coordination. A very popular option in Ludlow, this school has a Par 3 golf course on campus. You will learn with PGA qualified golf coaches from Ludlow golf club. You will work on a range of shots from ‘set and swing’ to chipping and putting in order to build a complete game. The coaches use video playback to help even the most advanced players make big improvements in their technique.

Pro-Football: tour of Anfield, included.

Pro-Football

Skills, fitness and match play: working with professional football coaches, students will improve all aspects of their game including passing, dribbling, shooting, and decision making.

Our campus has 2 grass and 1 astro-turf football pitch. The ‘icing on the cake’ is a full-day excursion to Liverpool and a stadium tour of Anfield, home of Liverpool FC on Wednesday July 17 2024.

Pro-Basketball on campus

Pro-Basketball

Our Pro-Basketball Specialism combines match play with skill development. Professional coaches from top regional clubs help students develop key skills including dribbling, shooting, defense, rebounding and passing.

Training takes both inside and outside.

Active

Perfect for students who want to use their English in the most active way to learn new skills.

Outdoor Leadership
Outdoor Leadership

Outdoor Leadership

Mountains, rivers, forests: our school is located in an area of the UK with beautiful and wild outdoor spaces.

At the heart of this course is development of communication and leadership skills: students learn to listen to each other, build trust and together make decisions and solve problems. Completing mental and physical challenges in a natural environment boosts students’ wellbeing and confidence to step outside their comfort zone.

Film Making

Students storyboard, shoot and edit their very own film. The end result is then shown to an audience. This is superb for creative skills and students learn technical and team working skills.

Theatre

Students write, produce and perform their own production – in English! Students learn teamwork, project management and it gives them confidence to ‘speak in public’ and perform in front of an audience.

Dance

Working with professional dance teachers, you will learn different dance styles from around the world  and work together in mixed nationality teams to create a choreographed dance show to present to the school

Perfect for students with B2-C2 English who want the most intensive academic summer programme

University Preparation
University Prep.

University Prep.

This course offers teenagers a precious opportunity to think outside the box regarding which university course and which university they will choose. In addition, students reflect on all their achievements to date and learn to express what they have learnt from these experiences and then use this awareness to draft a UCAS personal statement. Finally, students create a personal development plan focused on personal qualities, subject reading, organisation of work experience and participation in after school clubs so that when the time comes, they will be accepted by their chosen university.

Creative Writing

Creative Writing

Students learn how to write a great short story. They learn how to generate ideas, create a structure , and they develop special techniques to describe atmosphere and character. At the end, we publish the stories. This course is a great choice for students planning to attend high school in the UK.

Flexibility:

Students can study a different Specialism every week from any category or do the same option every week.

For example, it is possible to do University Prep. from the ‘Academic’ category in your first week. In your second week you could choose Film Making from the ‘Active’ category.

Alternatively, you could do, for example, Golf from the ‘Sport’ category every week.
